– Dystopian Reflections –
We have entered into
a social state of total disconnection.
This once great and beloved city
seems to rout out from itself,
skin thickened with the scars
of these older and deeper wounds;
These once valiant and joyful people
are now nothing more than a dystopian reflection
of our collective breaking point.
There is no one left who dares
to stop and help the emergency;
Only to help themselves to the spoils
of those lost souls left behind.
All the best of us has fallen through the cracks.
What danger and violence
might befall us as we turn our backs,
as we walk away from those ever restless hearts
of mankind in his collective grief?
We are trapped together in that vicious cycle,
refracting back and forth forever
into the same broken frame.
Perhaps there isn’t any reason then,
when one is losing their mind among so many
to stop and pay it any mind at all.
After all;
You cannot help someone
who does not want to be helped.
You cannot save someone
who does not want to save themselves.
