Prose – Back to Earth

– Back to Earth –

I suffer from too much empathy;
A lack of present entropy
to craft in my future designs.
Half a life of work
has been so cruelly lost.
But it is still a life worth living,
because the other half
is always living within me.

It is a high price to pay
to reach out and touch the stars;
The higher we fly,
the father we will fall.
We come crashing back to Earth,
and even through the sacrifice,
and the passing of the pain,
It was worth all of it;
It was worth all of me.
