Prose – The Lovely Spaces

– The Lovely Spaces –

I seek to walk in the uncluttered places,
I seek to know the unremembered histories,
marked in spraypaint glyphs
on the walls of the midtown subway.
It’s too crowded in the fray,
too many empty faces,
too much matter without any substance,
filling up those lovely spaces.

For all of the loneliness
of the human world,
I still feel such loveliness
as I travel within it.
I will never let that fear of loneliness
incite me to madness again.
I must find a place of peace
where there is no one left
to judge me but myself.
