Prose – Enabler

– Enabler –

I suppose I must admit
that I acted out of purpose
when I taunted you as a liar.
I intentionally instigated
your anger and your ire,
so that you would know;
the more you hate me
is the more that you hate yourself
for what you have become.

You are subservient to the abusive,
the enabler of the oppressor,
fuelled by an abundance of aggression
that only serves to heat the chill
of your own bitter heart.
From these truths that are self evident,
I see through your frail disguise.
No woman should befriend
a man who brings such pain
upon the life of another.

You are now lost to all of the lies
which give you the comfort of that cover.
You have become the root
of that certain kind of evil,
and for all of your spite upon me,
it is only my strength to endure
which you have truly inspired.
