– Gilded In Green –
I recoil from this dystopian city.
The feeling of the dust and decay
is like a fire on my fragile skin,
grinding me down,
leaving me worn and gritty.
I long to go back to the wild open spaces,
to follow the traces of our human roots,
to find somewhere that I can breathe,
somewhere that I can run free,
somewhere that is gilded in green.
