– Living Genuinely –
We hide behind the fallacy of systemic safety.
We subscribe to the comfort of that belief.
We leave the path unbroken
for those left behind to make their own way
through more treacherous lands.
But I will not abandon my better nature
by abandoning them in times of need.
I will not live so disingenuously
toward those that I have loved along the way.
I will tread widely on these many roads,
for everyone chooses their own,
and we all have such great distances
yet to travel ahead.
