– Life in Motion –
I see our lives in motion,
looking out across the city skyline,
with towers rising against the grey,
buildings growing like concrete trees
in an ever thickening forest.
The coloured lights of neon nights
begin to shine upon us,
marking our paths through
the tangled streets beneath,
each one of those lights a life,
each life marked in years
that we have spent in vibrant growth,
a future that we have created together,
an evolution that we have nurtured,
a past which we have shared,
and left behind in memory.
We watch the last of the sunset fade,
watch the stars begin to appear,
beholden to the power of their brightness.
With arms outstretched together,
we spiral further into the universe,
reaching across space and time
to find each other in the radiant centre.
Life becomes a raging singularity,
burning brighter and brighter,
until there is nothing left of us
but the dust of those same stars.
