– Shattered World –
There were so many parts of this world
that had to be broken;
The gaudy covers shielding its ugly truth
had filled our eyes with false colours
so that we could not see
what cruelty lay beneath it.
I am but a single piece
of the greater mosaic.
I can never be fixed,
for my fixed place in this fate decrees
that I must define that pathway
for others who may be less vigilant.
