Prose – GraveRidden

– GraveRidden –

In the depth of night,
I am rising from my bed again,
soaked heavy with sweat
and shivering with cold.
It isn’t falling asleep
which I fear most,
but of having to wake
into an endless nightmare,
each day like rising out of the grave
as a dead man from a fresh earth
too shallow to hold me down,
coming alive again and again,
walking like a zombie
out into a wasteland world.
