– Isolation Syndrome –
Hiding myself rarely affords me a sense of positivity;
Living a lie of omission is just as hard as living
with the struggle of my solitary state of mind.
My honesty is so often received with intolerance,
so often results in a slow alienation;
An irony that never ceases to astound me,
to further compound my lack of self confidence.
I want to adapt to that sense of social normalcy.
I no longer wish to be the adversary of myself.
I long to accept the feeling of being truly alone,
to accept that however close in body
I may be to any other human being,
I will always remain alone within my mind.
