Our frail stability becomes
a condition of emotional static;
When the revolt comes,
we turn too fast
to sensory overdrive.
I have denied the responsibility
of my own vulnerabilities.
I have denied my own distress
for the sake of feeling yours,
and although my stability
is merely an illusion,
it is far more pleasant
than the madness of my truth.
So show me your anger;
that same rage filled edge
which I have shown you
a thousand times in return.
I deserve no less,
than to place myself at risk
of your perpetual reactions.
