– The Cruelties of Fate –
Is this all there is for us now?
Accepting the fact of our existence
in this purgatorial state,
and the seemingly inevitable cruelty
of a fate that I once followed so blindly.
I have faced that fate openly in times of love,
and I will stand against it in defiance of pain
before I accept that we should bear
its heavier consequence.
