– With Heavy Hearts –
My responsibility is greatest to those
who have been heavier to themselves.
It is the evolution of our lives
that makes us stronger together.
It is the emotions that we share
which make us whole again.
That weight within me is at times
almost more than I can carry.
I am not so different now
than what I once was in my youth.
Though I have learned to hide
my own emotions from others
when they are most in need of care,
and I can only hope that
I am not so heavy to them now
as I had been before.
