Prose – Pieces of Me

– Pieces of Me –

I meet myself upon the open road, in smaller pieces never truly whole. Simple moments of joy; Interaction with those strangers in the streets around me that could one day become friends and lovers. The smile of a newborn infant in a proud mothers arms. The old men sleeping rough in the shelter of street corners, hidden behind the towers of newer wealth around them. The fashionable youth in the heights of those towers, structures designed only for the use of their particular fashion. All of the souls that look back upon themselves, each with their own heartfelt moments and memories.

I am an iteration of the hope that I wish to see reflected on those faces around me; Emotion and experience, love and wisdom embodied into human form. These are the joys of living; To move from moment to moment in a capacity of experience that far exceeds my individual ability to contain the moments themselves; The nature of our human existence is such that however similar each of us may be to each other, we are never completely alike, that we can only ever be truly whole with the inclusion and integration of those others around us.
