Prose – With Freedom From Wanting

– With Freedom From Wanting –

Always afraid of wanting more,
it is the absence of your longing
which draws me back to you.
How can I love you without knowing
how you want to be loved?

The mistakes of our history
can never be undone,
and we must live on with the loss;
But the freedom of that loss
is such that we may walk forward,
out from the weight of our past
to find a new kind of love in our future.

As tomorrow turns to yesterday,
we lose that fear of wanting more,
and our dreams for better days
begin to take shape once again.
This history of us is only a moment;
I can only move forward from it,
and hope that I will meet you on the other side.
